My name is Joseph Chow.

Full-stack engineer. I'm drawn to the quiet parts of agent systems: the tool calls that usually vanish into a black box. I like building so you can actually see what's happening: traces, latency, and cost, on your own machine. Local-first, on purpose.

Lately that curiosity became toolcall-timeline: a local inspector for MCP tool calls, with waterfall timing, payloads, and session cost when the data is there.

I like small, sharp tools more than big platforms. If I can't look inside something, I'm slow to trust it. I'd rather ship a loop I can watch, then grow it carefully from there.

Away from the keyboard I'm in Toronto, studying Mandarin and Cantonese for family, Vietnamese for community, and French because I'm curious about it.
